Description of the North Central Region

In 2000 there were approximately 4,800 full-time entrepreneurs and 4,700 part-time entrepreneurs in the North Central region. The annual average earnings of full-time entrepreneurs was $28,100 and the average for part-time entrepreneurs was$28,100. Both of these averages were above the annual average wage for the region of $22,300.1

The most common educational background of entrepreneurs in this region (both full-time and part-time) was either a high school diploma or some college with no degree. The largest concentration of both full-time and part-time entrepreneurs was in the Agriculture and Forestry industry.
