Description of the St. Louis Outer Metro Region

In 2000 there were approximately 4,200 full-time entrepreneurs and 5,300 part-time entrepreneurs in the St. Louis Outer Metro region. The annual average earnings of full-time entrepreneurs was $24,800 and the average for part-time entrepreneurs was $44,900. Both of these averages were above the annual average wage for the region of $25,000.1

The most common educational background of entrepreneurs in this region (both full-time and part-time) was a high school degree. The largest concentration of both full-time and part-time entrepreneurs was in the Construction industry.
